Registration for Edmonton Code Camp is now open!!!!!! Hurry on over to http://www.edmontoncodecamp.com and sign up because once we are full, well we are full. Seating is limited because of fire regulations or else I would have the library packed to the rafters.

In addition to the great speakers that are going to be presenting at the code camp, there is going to be a lot of great swag that we will be giving away for free at the end of the day. So register now!

Steven, good luck with Code Camp! I'll be in Los Angeles unfortunately, otherwise I'd be there!

Maybe you should consider advertising what the free swag is. I know you guys have some seriously great freebies and it can't hurt for others to know that they have a chance at getting some of those goods, right?

Is there $ in the budget for you guys to give away T-shirts or ball-caps or pens advertising Code Camp? Free swag for all would be super awesome =)

Wow...this is going to be an awesome code camp! I can't wait to hear Jean-Paul talk on Generics! I hear that he does the BEST Generics talk EVER! Nobody can come close to touching his generics talk!

I remember he went in to one user group recently and did the talk, and this guy ran out crying. Turns out that he had done a generics talk a few months earlier and Jean-Paul had done such a good job that it made his look like Cookie Monster counting to 10.

Should be a great time!

I was at that meeting and I know the Generics presenterin question, D'Arcy. It had nothing to do with Jean-Paul's quality presentation, as this presenter (who will remain anonymous) is a generics *master*. It has more to do with his unfortunate tendency to simply cry a lot in public! Some of these Ruby guys tend to be pretty emotional.

Does Steve cry alot? You and Don always mention about how you need to bring kleenex to events with him.

Why the hell do I always get dragged into these conversations? I had nothing to do with this. This fabled generics presenter was, and still is, the first quality local presentation that was had in that locale. D'Arcy is just pissed that they can't get presenters like that out in Winnipeg so he has to go and slag them. Really what did this presenter ever do to him? Spam comments on your blog D'Arcy? I didn't think so.......

Yeah D'Arcy!! If you want to see a presentation that looks like the Cookie Monster counting to 10, then come to EDMUG *this* month!!!

Well, it can't be Donald presenting...he can only count to 8.

Gentlemen...no sorry...there's none of those here. Mrs. Loquacious, please plug your ears and cover your eyes, I'm not sure how nasty this may get. I have a feeling your sensibilities might get hurt. So to prove that I can I will do the less than politically correct proof of my counting ability.
1 -- The loneliest number. Also the number of beer D'Arcy can handle in a night before flashing Montreal fire fighters...yah...live with that mental picture. It's also the number of Montreal waitresses that love a good cowboy.
2 -- The number of weeks I have left to prep for my presentation (also the number of bottles of wine this presenter can consume on his last night in Montreal)
3 -- As in third...third string QB....ringing any bells Mr. Winnipeg Blue Bomber?
4 -- The number of different wireless NICs that people from Winnipeg need to try before giving up trying to get internet connectivity at DevTeach.
5 -- Yep, you guessed it. The grade that most people in Manitoba enroll in the most number of times in their lifetime. The sad thing is that the first time usually doesn't happen until they're 23 yrs old.
6 -- The number of legs on Manitoba's primary export. No not mosquitos, but rather hookers that have the same person for a father and brother...for the fifth generation running.
7 -- As in '97...yep the first year of the Phoenix Coyotes.....but at least with a salary cap Winnipeg is close to one of the cities that made the Finals this year.
8 -- The number of comments that Steve never thought he'd get on one post.
9 -- The number of business days I have to prep for my presentation. You know the one....where I won't be able to count to 8.
10 -- The number of hair care products used by Justice every day.

So people, I can count not only to 8, but to 10 as well. To all you nay-sayers I have one thing to say to you.....West Nile. Learn to love it.

LOL! That's an awesome post...almost as awesome as the new Edmonton Code Camp poster I just blogged about...
;)

I can handle more beer than 1! I just happen to be intoxicated while handling them. ;)

And remember: I'm not cheering for the Bombers this year! And they will have Quinn (2nd string) in tonight...but for how long, who knows.

That Dev Teach thing was obviously NOT my laptop...geeze...;)

It's actually 4 I think, not 5 for the grade thing.

Interestingly enough, those hookers end up in Alberta...

10 hair care products...lol!

Well, I could go to shaving myself nearly bald and then not require any hair care product, but I think the "Stone Cold Steve Austin, software developer" look is a little passé...
