One thing that makes me a better developer is keyboard shortcuts, the problem is that they aren't very discoverable and you usually have to download a keymap for each application.

After using my Mac for awhile I really missed the alt key from Windows to pull down menus. Jonas introduced me to Keycue for Mac OSX, it is a utility that shows all keyboard shortcuts for the application that you are using after you hold down a hotkey (the Apple key) for a certain amount of time.

Now I am left wondering why Windows doesn't have something like this!

It's a great idea. Any of the ribbon-styled apps in Office 2007 do it already. If you hold down ALT for a second or so, hot keys will pop up. Press a key, but keep the alt key down and you'll see the hot keys for the ribbon you selected. Hopefully more applications follow suit because looking up hot keys in help files sucks. Discoverable shortcuts rock!

James,

The Office 2007 hot key shortcuts rock. I love the Hit-a-Hint (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1341) Firefox Add-on for mouseless web browsing, it brings the Office hot keys to Firefox.
