Catherine and I woke up early today and did the Superwalk for Parkinsons. I managed to raise $185 towards Parkinsons research. I would like to thank everyone who donated, your donation is very much appreciated since this run means a lot to me. People who missed donating can still donate to the cause on the Parkinson Society of Canada website.

I thought the run was a lot harder than last year, there were a lot more steeper hills and stairs and there ended up being construction on the pathways in Rundle Park. I ended up finishing in 35 minutes and 48 seconds and finished somewhere in the top 10. Catherine took a wrong turn because the layout of the run wasn't very obvious but still managed to finished around 40 minutes.

The governor general of Alberta was there in his Edmonton Eskimos jacket and while we were waiting around for the race to start his wife asked us if we were Stampeders fans because we were wearing red and black. A lot of people laughed when vehemently denied her accusations.

The participant package was better this year, we got a couple 2 for 1 coupons to the Comedy Factory so we can go see a show now. They also had red bracelets like the Livestrong bracelets for Parkinsons support.

I also ended up winning a prize. We thought it was going to be a gift certificate to a restaurant or movie or something but it was a one free pass to the Edmonton Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. I ended up giving it back and letting them redraw for it because I can't see myself going there anytime soon (especially by myself).

So hopefully we raised a lot of money for Parkinsons research and if everything goes right hopefully we won't have to do this run next year ;)

Hi Steve!
It sounds like you enjoyed the RUN! It is great that both you & Catherine got out there and helped raise money for such a good cause. Congratulations on your prize (even though you gave it back!). Even though the course was more difficult this year, and had confusing detours, I'm sure both of you will participate next year - and I will support you both with donations!!!!
Where are the photographs? I know that your camera has new batteries!
And...you wore red & black - what happened to the bright fushcia tights???????

I forgot my camera so I couldn't take any pictures, but tomorrow I am taking my camera to work so I can take pictures of the condo.

If people would have donated more money then I would have wore the tight pants.
